Many people make the mistake of thinking they have to clean themselves up before they come to God. Did you know that your bible is filled with stories about murderers, adulterers, liars, cowards, and drunks? It’s true! And God still loved Moses, David, Rebecca, Gideon and Noah in spite of their faults! He still used all of them for great works. God loves YOU and wants to fulfill a great purpose in YOUR life, too.
Remember these two facts from the Bible:
1. All have sinned and fallen short. (Romans 3:23)
2. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
You are never too far for God to find – and rescue – you. Reading the “Sinner’s Prayer” below will not save you – but meaning the words to the “Sinner’s Prayer” will! You have tried things your way. Why not try God’s way and know for yourself the “peace of God that passes all understanding” that the bible refers to in Philippians 4:7?
Sinner's Prayer
Heavenly Father, I come to you admitting that I am a sinner. Right now, I ask you to forgive me. I believe that Your Son, Jesus, died on the cross. I believe that He rose from the dead and is in Heaven today. I call upon the name of Jesus Christ and confess Him to be the Savior and Lord of my life. Jesus, I choose to follow You and ask that You guide my life through the power of your Holy Spirit. I declare that right now I am a child of God. I am saved in Jesus' name. AMEN!
By the way, if that first paragraph doesn’t prove that man did not write the bible, nothing will… You know man would not want his imperfections displayed for everyone to read! God wanted them in the bible to show us that he is available for all who call on the name of the Lord.
